Review

WinBar 1.2.95 is a free program that lets you monitor your system and provides easy access to frequently used controls.

WinBar will run on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, XP, 2000 and 2003 operating systems.

When you install WinBar 1.2.95, it will remain as a toolbar on the top of your screen.

By default, that toolbar will inform you the Operating System you´re using, the CPU usage percent (numerically and graphically), the amount of used and free RAM and the volume level (in percentage).

Clicking on the OS button you will access more information about it, like the version, license, etc. Clicking on the RAM indicator you will access Windows Task Manager, under the tab "Performance". You can mute the sound by clicking over the speaker icon, or modify its level clicking over the percentage bar.

On the right end of the bar you will see two black arrows, one pointing down and the other one pointing to the right. If you press the down arrow you will access the program´s configuration, where you can add or remove modules from the toolbar. If you press the right arrow you will minimize the bar. You will then only see a tiny arrow pointing to the left. If you click on it, the bar will appear again. The left arrow has a similar function.
Advantages
  • It´s a tiny, free and useful utility.
Disadvantages
  • None.
